Hayatou's Ousting Needed for a Cleaner CAF

African football fans short-changed by current CAF leadership.
In North Africa and the Middle East there have been protest marches, which have led to violent clashes in parts, to oust dictators who have been in power for two decades or more and there are news reports that fighting in Libya has led to the death of Muammar Qaddafi. I think it’s time Cairo had another round of protests – this time outside the headquarters of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) as Issa Hayatou is leading this organisation with an iron fist and doesn’t want to step down despite being in power since 1978. Just like many who rule for a long period of time he's had to avoid much criticism.

Hayatou has resisted change despite the various controversies that have followed CAF under his leadership with the latest of these being the centralisation of the 2014 World Cup qualifiers and marketing rights as the sole owner of these is Italian company B4, associated to the French’s Lagardere Sport and its subsidiary Sportfive. The African football governing body faced much criticism from the media and citizens of the football loving continent as the rights essentially cost 23 million US dollars and Sportfive can demand huge amounts from African television stations in order for them to screen various matches. These demands have already started and some Africans will miss their countries’ matches on television as local stations struggle to pay the fees. It’s just bizarre that an African football association would give rights to a foreign company that has shown no interests of the continent’s people watching their favourite sport.

Formed in February 1957 CAF has had six presidents with Hayatou being the longest serving. There are six regions under CAF and they are UNAF for North Africa, WAFU-UFOA for West Africa, UNIFFAC in Central Africa, CECAFA in the East, COSAFA in Southern Africa, UAFA for the Arab regions. Apart from the African Cup of Nations, CAF also administers three male and female club competitions with the biggest. It would be interesting to find out how much say other CAF members have as it seems to be Hayatou and possibly his inner circle making decisions.

Hayatou is also alleged to have taken 1,5 million US dollars in order to vote for Qatar as the 2022 FIFA world cup hosts. Jacques Anouma of the Ivory Coast has accused of the same as well. If this is true then the men are showing the corruption many in Africa have been fighting against which has led to the collapse of several dictatorships on the continent.

If for nothing else then Hayatou should step down for the love of the game he represents as African footballers want to see a clean chapter starting in the ruling of what was ‘the beautiful game’.

"SIZOBATHELA NGA MANZI"...1st September 2011

12 am on the 1st of september 2011, i am sleeping in my res room and all of a sudden i hear students' voices just a the corridor. i then decide to go out and take a look then on e of my next door neighbours poured a bucket full of water on me........what the hell? it's spring day buddy.

I cannot say i wasn't looking forward to this, it is just that everything happened so fast and i honestly didn't expect to see people starting the party that early,i mean; it was 12 am..don't you sleep?.."i'm now wet, what do i do?,do i go back to sleep or do i join the party?"..i said to myself. After all that i just decided to join in the party. i put my t-shirt on and went out to where the party was (alex parking) and as i was walking there someone came from behind with another bucket full of water and this is when i recalled that i had actually left something usefull in my room........the water bucket. Without thinking twice i rushed to my room, get the bucket and off i was, again, to where the party was.when i got there, this time, the number of students had increased by an unbelievable amoun and this made me ask myself a question: Do people reall sleep on campus?.

I mean, i saw those people that you could never see oround campus after 8,never ,even if you go their residence u will find them inside their beds. I'm talking about those guys that girls in your class always say "they do not have lives",they were awake, and this showed me that this was really a special day for all kinds of students.....

The party then ended at around 3am, i decided to go and sleep....woke up very late bacause i knew i wasn't going to have any classes. To my suprise, when i woke up the party had started again and this yime even more students had joined in and the number had increased three times....without any hasitation i just took off with a bucket in my hand, got some water and poured it on the first person i met and the person was not really happy,so i had to leave as soon as i saw that he was not really happy.. the sping day celebration went on and on and at around 5 o'clock later that day a lot of people started to disappear into their rooms and it seemed the party was starting to end.

All in all the spring day was great around here and i can safely say i am looking forward to the same day next year and m going to make sure that i'm one of the people to mstart the party.......welcome spring /summer.let us enjoy your presence.

A dead baby is left to rot in one of our State-run mortuaries

a baby left to rot in a dust bin in one of our state-owned mortuaries

Over the past few weeks to months there has been a lot of talk concerning the quality of the government own institution against the privately owned institution, these institutions include mortuaries, airports, Universities, stadiums and etc.

In this case we  are focusing on the state owned mortuaries, this is following  the publishing of a dead baby by the newspaper THE DAILY DISPATCH..It was really a horrors to see a newspaper publishing a story with a Photo of a dead, rotting baby in a dirt bin,but they (newspaper) were well within their rights and it was only right to make the public aware of how our state owned mortuaries have been operating as well as expose the mortuaries for what they really are .

This is a horrifying story about our State run mortuaries. A dead baby is left to rot in one of our State-run mortuaries….above is the picture of the dead body of a child that was found inside a dustbin in one of the state-owned mortuaries in south africa. Now, a lot questions might be asked as to wether the DAILY DISPATCH newspaper should have publish the pictures or not.I think it was a very clever move for the newspaper to do such because they did exctly what we expected from them, which is of course to expose everyone who does not do things the right way or at least the way we tink is right.
The is very similar to the story that made headlines  few months back when the police brutaly assaulted Free-State citizen Andries Tatane and that eventually lead to his death. The public had mixed feeling abut the SABC broadcasting the story and i think the goverment blew the whole thing out of propotion,as they always do, and made it look like the media wanted to hurt the Tatane family but we all know that the media actually wanted to inform the nation of what the police have been doing around the country..
i would love to say thumbs up to Editor of the daily dispatch Mr Mpumelelo Mkhabela for not having fear and decided to go on with the story not considering what the public will say after all,we need editors and journalists who will report on anything without fear and not taking any sides..

Are we a swearing GENERATION.......?

Having conversations with my varsity friends has ,these days, become the same as listerning to hip hop artists rapping......some of you might be asking: "where is he going with this?",just try to remember, when last did you and your buddies have a conversation and you could not hear yourself or your friends saying words such as,[and excuse my language]: "shit","fuck", "ass" and many other words?...........

Sometimes i wonder what influences this but, when i watch sports these days i find the same thing. Back in the day when a soccer player missed a goalscoring opportunity we would see them screaming "eish", "he banna", "aaah" ,but now it has changed to the above mentioned words. The same thing happens to tenni. cricket and as for rugby it is even worse. And this does not end with sportsmen and women , it also applies to the public proffesional whom you would expect to be on their best bahaviors when at work assisting you or the next person.

By the public proffesionals i mean: bank assistants, taxi drivers, cafeteria staff, nsfas staff, lecturers, and in no time we will be counting pastors and church ministers on this list.......you know the kind of people i am talking about, those are the people you expect best behaviours. We cannot have lecturers swearing in class right, but guess what we have those things and we still continue with the lecture like nothing happen. what happen to the ethics tha we africans use to have?, I mean, where I come from, and I am sure this happens in all blacks communities, you cannot have a NORMAL adult swearing infront of young kids and if a young kid swears infront of his elder,he will have to face the consequences……

Now, I know the question might be: ”what do we do about this whole situation?”…..the answer to that question is simlpe, let us go back to being the Africans that we once were and stop bringing the American life to our lovely African life……….mayibuye i-Africa

It's all in the mind...........u can argue!!!!!!!

octopus iker predicting the Barcelona v madrid game

The world cup has come to mzansi and it is now gone, but this Octopus thing is still around....i wonder. "who believes what this things says?", i ask myself, but it seems most people in this world of ours are 'fans' of it and i fail to understand why.

On Tuesday the 19 april 2011 I heard on one of m favourate radio stations that the octopus "Iker",named after the spanish goalkeeper Iker cassillas, predicted that Real Madrid was going to  beat rivals FC Barcelona to claim the Copa del Rey trophy the next day, which  they did, but it was more the Ronaldo magic that came into play than what the octopus think.

I'm am not really a fan of either Barca or Madrid, but i watched the game between the two sides last night and i will have to be honest and say Real Madrid was jst the better team on the night. I think the whole 'octopus' thing disturbed the Barca players mentally.Just think about it,if you get into a match and you are already thinking "oh boy,no matter how we try to win this one,we still are going to lose",there is no way you will win.....thus it's all in the mind .how many times, really, has this octopus predicted the outcomes of the match and the game ends with a totally different result.

when i heard about this octopus' prediction in the radio i was like.......  "hey octopus, if madrid were to win their game they would win because they have great  players ,not because you wanted them to win",but then again it is only a fish, ohh an octopus..........but hey it is only my opinion, feel free to argue. I t is all in the mind.
