Are we a swearing GENERATION.......?

Having conversations with my varsity friends has ,these days, become the same as listerning to hip hop artists rapping......some of you might be asking: "where is he going with this?",just try to remember, when last did you and your buddies have a conversation and you could not hear yourself or your friends saying words such as,[and excuse my language]: "shit","fuck", "ass" and many other words?...........

Sometimes i wonder what influences this but, when i watch sports these days i find the same thing. Back in the day when a soccer player missed a goalscoring opportunity we would see them screaming "eish", "he banna", "aaah" ,but now it has changed to the above mentioned words. The same thing happens to tenni. cricket and as for rugby it is even worse. And this does not end with sportsmen and women , it also applies to the public proffesional whom you would expect to be on their best bahaviors when at work assisting you or the next person.

By the public proffesionals i mean: bank assistants, taxi drivers, cafeteria staff, nsfas staff, lecturers, and in no time we will be counting pastors and church ministers on this list.......you know the kind of people i am talking about, those are the people you expect best behaviours. We cannot have lecturers swearing in class right, but guess what we have those things and we still continue with the lecture like nothing happen. what happen to the ethics tha we africans use to have?, I mean, where I come from, and I am sure this happens in all blacks communities, you cannot have a NORMAL adult swearing infront of young kids and if a young kid swears infront of his elder,he will have to face the consequences……

Now, I know the question might be: ”what do we do about this whole situation?”…..the answer to that question is simlpe, let us go back to being the Africans that we once were and stop bringing the American life to our lovely African life……….mayibuye i-Africa
