| a baby left to rot in a dust bin in one of our state-owned mortuaries |
Over the past few weeks to months there has been a lot of talk concerning the quality of the government own institution against the privately owned institution, these institutions include mortuaries, airports, Universities, stadiums and etc.
In this case we are focusing on the state owned mortuaries, this is following the publishing of a dead baby by the newspaper THE DAILY DISPATCH..It was really a horrors to see a newspaper publishing a story with a Photo of a dead, rotting baby in a dirt bin,but they (newspaper) were well within their rights and it was only right to make the public aware of how our state owned mortuaries have been operating as well as expose the mortuaries for what they really are .
This is a horrifying story about our State run mortuaries. A dead baby is left to rot in one of our State-run mortuaries….above is the picture of the dead body of a child that was found inside a dustbin in one of the state-owned mortuaries in south africa. Now, a lot questions might be asked as to wether the DAILY DISPATCH newspaper should have publish the pictures or not.I think it was a very clever move for the newspaper to do such because they did exctly what we expected from them, which is of course to expose everyone who does not do things the right way or at least the way we tink is right.
The is very similar to the story that made headlines few months back when the police brutaly assaulted Free-State citizen Andries Tatane and that eventually lead to his death. The public had mixed feeling abut the SABC broadcasting the story and i think the goverment blew the whole thing out of propotion,as they always do, and made it look like the media wanted to hurt the Tatane family but we all know that the media actually wanted to inform the nation of what the police have been doing around the country..
i would love to say thumbs up to Editor of the daily dispatch Mr Mpumelelo Mkhabela for not having fear and decided to go on with the story not considering what the public will say after all,we need editors and journalists who will report on anything without fear and not taking any sides..
